MyNewsGh.com sources say one Kwasi Agyei who until today April 12, 2024, was the Deputy Controller and Accountant General in charge of Treasury has been appointed as the Controller General.
According to our sources, his appointment takes effect on Monday, April 15, 2024.
Kwasi Agyei is said to be coming to the position with his wealth of experience in the public sector.
In the past, Kwasi Agyei worked at the Ministry of Finance as Chief Treasury Officer, and later at the Food and Drugs Authority as Head of Finance, subsequently as Director of Accounts at Ghana National Fire Service Headquarters and from 2015 to 2021 as Director of Finance at Ministry of ENERGY.
He was appointed as the Deputy Controller General in charge of Treasury by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2021.
He takes over from Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem who was sacked today April 12, 2024.
