Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a former Minister of Communications, has launched a scathing attack on the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensah, accusing her of bias and partisanship.
In a strongly worded post on social media, Dr. Omane Boamah labeled a recent press conference by Jean Mensah as “useless” and alleged that her actions are aimed at undermining the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“She has obviously been instructed by the NPP to dilute the 2/3 majority of the NDC. But she will fail!” Dr. Boamah stated, suggesting that the EC’s leadership is acting in the interest of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He further warned the EC boss against testing the patience of the NDC and its supporters. “She must not tempt us beyond our endurance! We mean business!” he stated, indicating that the party is closely monitoring developments.
Dr. Boamah also raised concerns about unresolved issues regarding some constituencies where results were not declared. He claimed the Electoral Commission possesses pink sheets proving that the NDC emerged victorious in those areas.
The former minister criticized Jean Mensah for allegedly evading an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting requested by the NDC, describing her actions as an attempt to avoid accountability.
“Instead of agreeing with our demand for an emergency IPAC meeting, she has decided to hide to avoid critical questions being asked at the IPAC meeting. Shamefu[l]!” he wrote.
Dr. Boamah concluded his post with a rallying call for vigilance against what he termed as the “criminal” activities of the Electoral Commission and the outgoing NPP administration, urging NDC supporters to maintain their focus.
