The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced thatChristian Atsu’sremains will be transported to Ghana today, Sunday, February 19, 2023.
In a statement, the ministry stated that the remains of the former Black Stars player will be accompanied by his family and Ghana’s Ambassador to Turkey on a Turkish airline flight expected to arrive at 7:40pm in Accra.
His remains will received at the Kotoka International Airport by the family, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), as well as the government upon arrival.
Christian Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday after he was pulled out of a rubble caused by an earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.
He was found 12 days after the Turkish rescue mission began searching for surviors.
Currently, Ghana is in a state of mourning as tributes pour in across the world for the late Christian Atsu.
