Arsenal Football Club has officially announced the successful signing of a new long-term contract with Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners have been diligently working towards securing the winger’s commitment to a fresh deal, with initial reports in February indicating an agreement in principle between the two parties.
Now, Arsenal has confirmed that Saka has officially inked the new contract, solidifying his future with the club.
Saka has had an impressive season at the Emirates Stadium, playing a prominent role in Arsenal’s Premier League campaign, despite their ultimately unsuccessful pursuit of the title.
He stands out as one of the two players, alongside Mohamed Salah, who has achieved double-digit figures in both goals and assists in the top flight this season.
Saka has found the back of the net 13 times and provided 11 assists for his teammates.
Arsenal is actively working to secure the futures of their key players.
They have already sealed a new contract with Aaron Ramsdale, and negotiations are ongoing with William Saliba. Additionally, talks are planned with captain Martin Odegaard.
However, Arsenal is prepared to allow Granit Xhaka to depart this summer following his decision to withdraw from contract discussions.
A move to Bayer Leverkusen is nearing completion for the Swiss midfielder, and he has indicated that an announcement regarding his future will be made this week.
“You will know the latest next week, for sure,” he said to the Evening Standard after Arsenal’s 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
“I think they [the fans] deserve that and I do myself as well. We have one more week of this Premier League season, the first thing is I want to enjoy and, for sure, you guys will know next week what happens with my future.”
