Yesterday marked a somber moment for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the party’s Chairman, along with other National Executives, paid a heartfelt visit to the family of their departed National Vice Chairperson, Hon. Sherry Ayittey.
During the emotional gathering, party executives and family members struggled to hold back tears as they eulogized the late Hon. Sherry Ayittey, who had been a dedicated stalwart of the NDC and a prominent figure in the party’s political tradition since its inception.
Hon. Sherry Ayittey’s political journey can be traced back to the heady days of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) Government, and she continued her unwavering support through the subsequent NDC-led governments. Recently, she collaborated with party leaders, including the Chairman, in various constituencies within the Greater Accra Region.
Her last involvement in the party’s victory at Assin North demonstrated her tenacity as a fierce and reliable fighter, one who could be counted on to stand firm in any political battle.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the NDC expressed the party’s profound grief at the loss of a true warrior and an illustrious woman. According to him, Hon.
