The true identities of the housemaids who allegedly stole $1 million USD, €300,000, and millions of Ghana cedis from Cecilia Dapaah have been publicly revealed for the first time.
The two housemaids, Patience Botwe (18) and Sarah Agyei (30), made a court appearance along with their boyfriends and families. Despite their attempts to cover their faces, some photographers managed to capture images of them during the court session.
About a month ago, the former sanitation minister, Madam Cecilia Dapaah, took her two housemaids to court, accusing them of stealing the aforementioned sums of money.
The incident garnered significant attention in Ghana, with reports suggesting that Patience Botwe used some of the stolen money to purchase a house and other expensive assets. Additionally, it was alleged that Sarah Agyei gave Ghc 50,000 cedis each to her boyfriend and father.
After remaining silent for several weeks, both Patience and Sarah have now spoken out. In a trending audio recording, Patience confessed to using her former employer’s money to buy a house.
Sarah, on the other hand, recounted an incident where she claims Madam Cecilia Dapaah poured hot water and pepper on her and physically assaulted her.
The case has drawn significant attention from Ghanaians and has been widely discussed in the local digital space.
