Among the shortlisted contenders is Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, who previously served as John Mahama’s running mate in the 2020 elections. Notwithstanding the initial speculation that she might be overlooked due to her inability to secure her home region of Central during the 2020 elections, Prof. Agyemang’s profound expertise in education and her commitment to advancing quality learning remain her strengths.
The list features a variety of accomplished individuals who have left their mark on Ghana’s political landscape. These prospective running mates include former Local Government Minister Akwasi Oppong Fosu, ex-Brong Ahafo Minister Eric Opoku, and former Health Minister Dr. George Sipa Yankey.
Also under consideration is Marietta Brew Appiah Oppong, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, who brings her legal acumen to the table.
