A H200 Hyundai car branded as (EDZRORLALI) carrying only the driver whose name has been given as Martin, a driver believed to be a resident of Akatsi South collided with a faulty trailer on Wednesday, between 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm resulting in the immediate death of the driver.
The driver, believed to be in his early 30s, was carrying Onions from Accra to the Southern Volta.
The late Martin, the victim crashed into a trailer abandoned on the right wig of the highway when going to Accra near the filling station before Ada.
According to reports, although the trailer had broken down and was parked with limited warning signs the H200 Driver also had his front tyre burst resulting in the head-on collision and being trapped under the faulty truck.
The accident caused the highway to be blocked for over half an hour.
Fire and police personnel who arrived at the scene were praised by witnesses for their professionalism and attention given to the victims of the deadly disaster.
The cause of the accident is currently being investigated. However, the driver unfortunately passed away from his injuries before the police arrived at the scene. The driver’s body has been taken to the morgue for investigation and autopsy.
