FixTheCountry convenor Mawuse Oliver Barker-Vormawor has alleged that former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten had sought to resign six months ago but President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo prevailed upon him to rescind his decision since it did not bode well for the image of his Government.
Mr Barker-Vormawor noted that having been privy to the happenings at the Presidency regarding Alan Kyeremanten’s decision to resign, he leaked in July 2022 with the hope that he could influence him to resign.
“Neho! The truth is that Alan Kyeremanteng is resigning six months too late.
In fact I broke the news then that he had tendered in his resignation. This was on 6th July 2022. Check first comment.
When I broke the news. I had heard from inside sources that Alan had had a private conversation with Oluman that he wanted to step aside. But Oluman was worried about optics so told him to wait till 2023. So i decided to force his hand by leaking it.
He didn’t take advantage of the opportunity offered,” he revealed on social media.
For Mr Barker-Vormawor, Alan Kyeremanten’s recent resignation purportedly to concentrate on contesting and winning the flagbearership race of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is sad given that he stayed a bit too long and got soiled by the President’s “incompetence and thievery.” However, he believes he is ahead of his supposed formidable contender Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
“At this point, it’s sad how he has allowed this Nana Addo to dirty him with his incompetence and thievery. Incompetent by association.
Lucky for him, People are looking for Bawumia to stone. So he is not the worse off one.
The NPP primaries will be more interesting than the NDC one,” he explained.
