Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. James Gunu has joined the debate that a lot of Ghanaians are not celebrating this year’s Christmas because of their bad economic conditions.
According to Mr. Gunu, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s mismanagement of the economy is affecting the celebration of Christmas nationwide.
He noted that most people are not celebrating Christmas because they have no money or other necessary resources to do so.
He attributed the hardship to Dr. Bawumia’s terrible economic management, unemployment, draconian taxes, widespread corruption in the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led NPP administration amongst several factors.
On the issue of unemployment, Mr. Gunu clarified that majority of the Youth have no jobs and no source of revenue, a situation he has blamed President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia and the NPP for. He believes that they have failed woefully to provide jobs for Ghanaians.
He further stressed on the economy by stating that Vice President Bawumia, who is the chairman of the Economic Management Team has grossly mismanaged the economy and has succeeded in singlehandedly bringing it to its knees.
Mr. Gunu also revealed that even those who have jobs are not celebrating this year’s Christmas because the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led Government continues to impose draconian taxes to take their little money from them.
