Ama Governor’s aspiration to be called to the Ghana Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, allowing her to practice law in the country, has faced yet another setback.
After successfully passing her exams at the Ghana School of Law, Elorm Ababio, known as Ama Governor, was initially set to be called to the Bar the previous year.
However, her admission was delayed due to a case brought against her by an individual named Hajia Siduri.
Despite the fact that Hajia Siduri, who had filed the case, failed to appear at the hearing, the case was dismissed. Nonetheless, Ama Governor’s admission to the Bar did not take place in 2022.
In the year 2023, Ama Governor’s admission to the Bar was anticipated on October 20, coinciding with the graduation of a new batch of students. Unfortunately, the General Legal Council has once again declined her admission for the second consecutive year.
In a circulating letter, they have cited elements in her public conduct as the basis for their decision. The council has also stated that she can reapply for admission in the following year, contingent on the monitoring of her behavior.
