Ghana’s former High Commissioner to India, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, has died. He passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, after a short illness.
His death was confirmed by Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who paid tribute in a heartfelt message on Facebook.
“A great man has fallen; a man who gave his all for the cause of the NDC. Heart-wrenching it is,” Gyamfi wrote. “Rest thee well in the bosom of your maker, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley. You shall forever remain in our hearts.”
Ambassador Yalley was a distinguished lawyer, diplomat, and public servant. Over the course of his career, he served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority before being appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to India in 2014 by then-President John Dramani Mahama.
He was widely respected for his dedication to public service and his contributions to Ghana’s diplomatic and legal landscape.
Further tributes are expected from political leaders and colleagues in the coming days.
