Information reaching InsiderGH.com from sources at the Presidency indicates that in the coming days, President John Dramani Mahama will nominate five individuals to the Supreme Court bench, including former Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei and Court of Appeal Justice Senyo Dzamefe.
The list also includes Dr. Abdul Basit Aziz Bamba, a respected constitutional law scholar, along with two others whose names are yet to be publicly confirmed.
Charlotte Osei’s nomination marks a significant development, considering her controversial dismissal in 2018 over alleged procurement infractions. Her potential return to public office via the highest court is already stirring political and legal debate.
Justice Dzamefe, known for his role in the 2014 World Cup Commission of Inquiry, brings decades of experience to the table, while Dr. Bamba is widely regarded for his academic and legal insight.
The nominations are expected to be submitted to Parliament for vetting and approval in the coming weeks.
