Tensions allegedly flared in the Hohoe Constituency as the Member of Parliament (MP), John Peter Amewu’s campaign team faced resistance during a door-to-door tour.
Allegations emerged that individuals, purportedly affiliated with the campaign, were rejected and even had water thrown at them by angry residents.
In a video shared by a user identified as @nanayaaprempeh, three men, believed to be part of John Peter Amewu’s campaign team, can be seen engaging with a woman in what appears to be a doorstep interaction.
Suddenly, the situation took a dramatic turn as the woman expressed her displeasure by throwing a pan of water at the men.
On Saturday, January 27, 2024, delegates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Hohoe constituency enthusiastically acclaimed MP, John Peter Amewu, as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the upcoming December elections.
Since 1992, Hon. John-Peter Amewu has made history as the first NPP candidate to secure victory in a parliamentary election within the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), achieving this milestone in the 2020 election.
This upcoming election marks his second attempt at retaining the seat in what is considered a pivotal contest.
