The Headmaster of Fijai Senior High School(SHS) in the Western Region, Kenneth Agbomodze, who was interdicted over the collection of unapproved fees from his students, has been reinstated after the committee set up to look into the matter exonerated him.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) had swiftly taken action last month after it emerged that students had been paying some fees to the school authorities. It then set up a committee to investigate the matter.
The committee has now found out that the headmaster had no hand in the collection of the so-called unapproved fees and has therefore been reinstated by the GES through its Western Regional Director, Mrs. Felicia Agyeibea Okai.
“I have been directed by the Director General to re-instate you effective 8th May 2023 based on the outcome of the Investigative Committee’s Report on the alleged Collection of illegal Levies in the school,” the letter addressed to Mr. Agbomadzi reads in part.
It reiterated that the GES takes great exception to the collection of unapproved fees and will not hesitate to punish anyone involved.
