Augustina Ama Tabua Kwofie, a National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate hopeful in the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency of the Western Region has stressed on the fact that gender equity needs to be part of every society’s DNA.
Talking to the Western Regional correspondent of InsiderGH.com as the world marks International Women Day today, Ms Augustina Ama Tabua Kwofie noted that the theme for this year’s celebration is very appropriate and calls for an affirmative action to ensure that gender equity is cultivated in every society.
According to her, equity is not just nice-to-have, but is a must-have. She added that while reflecting on the theme for this year’s celebration, it is critical to understand the difference between equity and equality.
She further affirmed her passion for women empowerment and assured the people of Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency of her plans to ensure that women are empowered to challenge themselves and also take up huge opportunities in their respective fields.
According to her, girl child education is on top of her priorities, the reason for which under her leadership, much resources will be allocated to ensure that every girl child in Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency gets easy access to quality education.
