Former President John Dramani Mahama has reacted to the resignation of President Akufo-Addo’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, and that of the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Osei Afriyie Akoto.
According to the Former President, some members of President Akufo-Addo’s government have realized that their administration is heading for a disaster, the reason for which most of them are deserting the “ship.”
He admonished Ghanaians not to forget the roles they[Ministers] have played in the country has been plunged into.
“Some members of the Akufo-Addo gov’t have realized their boat is heading for disaster. It must be a relief for those deserting the ship, but it’s so late. It’s almost pointless. They’ll try hard not to be part of the mess we are in, but let’s not forget the parts they all played,” he stated.
As reported on January 6, 2023 by InsiderGH.com, Minister of Trade and Industry, John Alan Kyerematen resigned from the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.
The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto also officially resigned.
He presented his resignation letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, January 10.
Both Alan Kyeremanten and Dr. Afriyie Akoto are frontline candidates expected to contest for the flagbearership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
It is believed that their resignation was because of the need to focus all their energy into lacing their boots for the flagbearerahip race of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP).
