Former President John Dramani Mahama is set to launch his Flagbearerahip campaign in the Volta Region, the party’s “World Bank.”
The Former President will on Thursday, March 2, 2023, launch his campaign in his bid to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as its flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
Mahama made the announcement in a post on social media today, February 28, 2023.
The former President is contesting the NDC flagbearership race together with three other personalities including former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu and 43-year-old businessman based in the United Kingdom, Ernest Kobeah.
A press statement from the Volta Regional Secretary, Hon. James Gunu, sighted by InsiderGH.com also indicates that “H.E John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to launch his campaign for the 2024 flagbearership contest at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, in the Volta Region on Thursday, March 2, 2024.”
“He will immediately embark on a tour of the constituencies after the launch to interact with delegates. The NDC 2024 Presidential hopeful will also take advantage of his presence in the region to pay his last respect to the late paramount chief of Ziope Traditional Area and former member of the council of state, Togbe Bina Lawluvi VI,” it further stated.
