Owusu Banahene, a vocal member of the Communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has extended an invitation to Alan Kyerematen, urging him to consider joining the NDC as a way to address the economic challenges that, according to him, Ghana has faced under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia.
This move by Owusu Banahene comes in the wake of Alan Kyerematen’s withdrawal from the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential election, which was originally scheduled for November 4.
Banahene’s remarks were made during an appearance on Peace FM’s “The Platform” program closely monitored by InsiderGH.com, where he shared his views on the current political landscape.
He expressed the belief that Alan Kyerematen’s decision to withdraw from the NPP’s presidential race amounted to a “political suicide,” suggesting that if Kyerematen intends to contest again in the future, he may struggle to garner significant support.
In addition to the invitation extended to Alan Kyerematen, Banahene also encouraged Ghanaians to consider joining the NDC as a means of addressing the economic challenges that the country currently faces. He attributed these challenges to the policies implemented by Vice President Bawumia and former President Akufo-Addo.
Banahene’s call for unity within the NDC and his message regarding the economic situation in Ghana were central points in his appearance on “The Platform.”
As the political landscape in Ghana evolves, the voices of influential figures like Owusu Banahene continue to shape the discourse, emphasizing the significance of political engagement and collective action in addressing the nation’s challenges.
