The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reacted to the official resignation of Former Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen from the party.
As reported earlier by InsiderGH.com, Mr. Alan Kyerematen in a national broadcast at 14:00 GMT announced his official resignation from the NPP.
During the address, be noted that he will contest for the Office if the President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2024 election as an independent candidate.
Reacting this, the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua took to popular social media platform Facebook to write; “#WeAreNPP.”
Few hours after the above post, he released an official communique in which he described Alan Kyerematen’s Resignation from the party as an “unfortunate decision.”
According to Justin Frimpong Kodua, “the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken notice of the unfortunate decision of Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a long-standing member of the Party to forfeit his membership and contest as an independent presidential candidate in the 2024 general elections.”
He added that “the Party leadership is by this medium, urging the rank and file of our great Party to remain calm and await an official address by the Party to Mr. Kyerematen’s resignation at 14:00pm on Tuesday September 26, 2023 at the Party headquarters.”
