Mr. Edmond Kofi Gunu, a level 300 Post First Degree Law student of the University of Cape Coast has been appointed to serve as the Chief Justice of the SRC Judicial Board for the 2022/2023 academic year.
His appointment is in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the 2010 University of Cape Coast Students Representative Council Constitution.
Mr. Kofi Gunu, an alumnus of UCC, hails from the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region.
He was admitted to UCC in August 2016 to read Bachelor of Arts Programme in History and Philosophy.
While studying for his first degree, he served the student front in several SRC & Local NUGS committees in various capacities.
He was the Treasurer of the Faculty of Arts Students’Association(FASA-UCC) for the 2018/2019 academic year.
He was also the President of the UCC Chapter of Akatsi South District Students Union (AKADISU) for the 2019/2020 academic year.
He graduated in 2020 and served the Department of History as a Teaching Assistant in the subsequent year.
He joined the University of Cape Coast Faculty of Law in the 2021/2022 academic year for his Law Degree and has participated in quite a number of intra and inter firm Moot Competitions.
Prior to his appointment as the Chief Justice, he was the Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of the vetting Committee of the Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA-UCC).
