In a somber turn of events, Ghana mourns the loss of one of its dedicated political figures, Kwadwo Tawiah Likpalmor, a longstanding National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) representing Kpandai constituency.
On Tuesday, September 19, the former NDC stalwart departed from this world, his final moments marked by his presence at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. His passing came after a protracted battle with a relentless stroke, a condition he bravely confronted. Kwadwo Tawiah Likpalmor reached the age of 63.
The sorrowful news of Mr. Likpalmor’s demise was officially confirmed by the Kpandai NDC Communication Officer and several party executives.
Throughout his illustrious political career, Mr. Kwadwo Tawiah Likpalmor proudly represented the Kpandai constituency in the Northern region. He achieved the remarkable distinction of being the longest-serving MP for Kpandai, diligently representing his constituents from 1992 to 2012.
Kwadwo Tawiah Likpalmor’s legacy extended through the annals of Ghana’s political history, as he served as a member in the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth Parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. His unwavering commitment to public service left an indelible mark on the nation.
Beyond his political endeavors, the former MP pursued a career as an educator and even ascended to the esteemed role of Principal Superintendent within the Ghana Education Service.
As Kwadwo Tawiah Likpalmor departs this world, he leaves behind a bereaved family, survived by his wife and five children. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and his contributions to Ghana’s political and educational landscapes will be fondly remembered.
