The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has scheduled parliamentary primaries in six constituencies for October 28 and 31, 2023, as part of the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections.
These constituencies include Odododiodioo in the Greater Accra region, Gomoa Central in the Central region, Amenfi East, Tarkwa Nsuaem, Evalue Ajomoro Gwira in the Western region, and Akontombra in the Western North region.
A statement issued by the General Secretary of the NDC, Fiifi Fiavi Kwartey, on Saturday provided details of the upcoming primaries. Notably, the primary for the Odododiodioo constituency in Accra will be held on October 31, 2023, due to the final funeral rites of the late Ga Manye.
In his statement, Fiifi Fiavi Kwartey called on the Regional Chairmen to ensure the necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the primaries. He emphasized the need for effective coordination and urged them to promptly address any challenges that may arise.
The timeline for the primaries includes the opening of nominations from Friday, October 6th, to Saturday, October 7th, 2023. Submission of nomination forms is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th, to Wednesday, October 11th, 2023. Vetting of candidates will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with the appeals process scheduled for October 16, 2023.
As the NDC gears up for these crucial primaries, it aims to select strong candidates who will represent the party’s interests in the upcoming elections and contribute to its overall success.
