Central Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress have been summoned to appear before the Functional Executive Committee of the party to explain the unlawful withdrawal of the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Assin Central.
As reported earlier by InsiderGH.com, the Central Regional Secretariat of the NDC has withdrawn Nurein Shiabu Migyimah as its parliamentary candidate for Assin Central. The decision follows his conviction on charges of immoral acts and anti-party activities. Read full report on that HERE.
The NDC’s Central Regional Functional Executive Committee (R-FEC) received numerous complaints against Migyimah, prompting an exhaustive investigation and deliberation process.
After careful consideration, the committee decided to revoke his candidacy effective immediately.
In a letter addressed to the Assin Central chairman of the NDC, the R-FEC announced that Migyimah would be suspended for six months pending further adjudication by the Regional Disciplinary Committee.
Reacting to the development, the General Secretary of the party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, invited the Central Regional Chairman together with his secretary to appear before the party’s National Functional Executive Committee on 2nd July, 2024 in relation to their unlawful withdrawal of the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Assin Central.
According to a letter signed by Fifi Kwetey sighted by InsiderGH.com, the said action allegedly taken by the Central Regional Secretariat of the party against the Assin Central Parliamentary Candidate, if true, amounts to a violation of rticles 40, 41, 46 and 48 of the NDC’s Constitution.
