At least six supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Amenfi Central sustained injuries after an attack on their campaign convoy at Adjakaamanso on the night of Saturday, November 30. The party’s parliamentary candidate, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, narrowly avoided harm during the incident.
The attack reportedly occurred as Madam Gyan and her team were returning from a campaign rally. Unidentified individuals intercepted the convoy, allegedly damaging her campaign vehicle by smashing its windows. Several supporters suffered injuries to their heads, hands, and legs during the altercation.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment. The incident has been reported to the Wassa Dominase Police Station, which has initiated investigations to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the perpetrators.
One of the victims, who requested anonymity, recounted that a vehicle suddenly blocked their path, leading to the confrontation. The reason for the assault remains unclear as police continue their inquiries.
