In the aftermath of a chaotic incident at the Greater Accra regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency, has called for decisive action against those responsible.
The turmoil unfolded as party members expressed dissatisfaction with perceived biases in the national leadership’s vetting process for parliamentary aspirants in the Odododiodio constituency.
Speaking to Selorm Adonoo on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Vanderpuye stressed the need to assess the damage caused by the individuals involved.
He urged the party to ensure that the culprits faced appropriate consequences for their actions. Vanderpuye firmly maintained that the agitated supporters had no justifiable reasons for their disruptive behavior and emphasized the importance of accountability.
“I have met with the Regional Secretary, the Regional Treasurer, the Deputy Treasurer, and the Office Administrator, and instructed them to assess the cost of the necessary repairs. We are also recommending to the party to take decisive action against those individuals who were captured on video engaging in such reprehensible conduct.”
“They had no valid grounds for their actions because the party provides legitimate channels for addressing grievances if someone is dissatisfied with any party process.”
“Venting their anger on innocent chairs and individuals who have no connection to the Odododiodio situation is entirely unfair and unjustifiable,” he concluded.
