Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC, Hon. James Gunu has reacted to the just ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies throughout the nation.
According to Mr. Gunu, the manner in which the election was conducted and its outcome is a classical reflection of vote of no confidence in the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia-led NPP administration.
Mr. Gunu further explained that, delegates have lost hope in President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia and their leadership and as such, have demonstrated that by voting against candidates in close ties with President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia.
Speaking in an interview with InsiderGH.com, Mr. Gunu noted that today’s election by the NPP at the various orphan constituencies in the Volta region is also a reflection of Kennedy Agyapong’s staged showdown in the region.
He made reference to the results of the NPP Presidential primaries in the Volta region which saw Mr. Agyapong defeating Dr. Bawumia with 5,850 votes as against the Vice President’s 4,984, which is a margin of 866 votes.
According to him, most of the candidates who supported Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP’s Presidential primaries have lost.
Checks by InsiderGH.com reveals that the MCE for Akatsi South, Kofi Martin Nyahe, DCE for Adaklu and a lot of MMDCEs in the Volta region who supported Dr Bawumia performed abysmally in today’s election.
