The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Mr. Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a private legal practitioner and a key figure in Democracy Hub, the group behind the “Reoccupy Julorbi House” protest.
Authorities had been actively searching for Mr. Barker-Vormawor, accusing him of engaging in unlawful conduct during the demonstration.
A viral video captured him removing the ignition key from a police towing vehicle that had arrived to tow a vehicle belonging to the protesters.
Mr. Barker-Vormawor defended his actions, stating that the towed vehicle contained essential supplies such as water and first aid for the demonstrators.
In its fifth update on the matter, the police informed the public of his arrest and assured that he would face the legal process.
