In a surprising turn of events, pollster Ben Ephson anticipates a challenging electoral path for Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo in Dome-Kwabenya, citing her TikTok videos as a potential factor influencing voter sentiment.
The forecast comes in the wake of Adwoa Safo’s TikTok posts featuring singing and dancing, particularly two videos from September 29 and 30, 2021.
Ephson expressed his insights on the Sunrise show on 3FM ahead of the NPP parliamentary primary, highlighting the public’s reaction to the TikTok content.
The Member of Parliament deactivated her TikTok account within 24 hours of facing accusations of neglecting her duties to constituents.
When questioned about Adwoa Safo’s potential success as an independent candidate if she loses in the primaries, Ephson remarked, “If Adwoa Safo goes independent, for the NPP supporters, she will perform poorly.” He emphasized that swing voters were notably displeased by her TikTok dancing, perceiving it as a disregard for their concerns.
Ephson concluded, “To go independent, I don’t think that even the swing voters will vote for her; they will really want to punish her.”
