The 2020 running mate to President John Mahama, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has joined executives from the national, regional, constituency, and branch levels as well as other party members to campaign for Hon James Gyakye Quayson ahead of the Assin North constituency by-election.
With the election date drawing near, Prof. Opoku Agyemang, a former Vice Presidential candidate, is actively engaging with the constituents in Assin North to garner support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate.
Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s campaign activities include interacting with local community leaders, addressing public gatherings, and engaging in door-to-door visits to connect directly with the voters. She has met traders at markets, beauticians, hairdressers, seamstresses and the aged on her first day of campaigning.
Her aim is to rally the party’s supporters, raise awareness about the by-election, and emphasize the NDC’s commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of the constituents.
Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s campaign strategy focuses on engaging voters, highlighting the NDC’s track record, and presenting their candidate as the best choice to represent the interests of the people of Assin North in Parliament.
The former Vice Presidential candidate brings her experience, leadership, and vision to the campaign, aiming to inspire confidence in the NDC’s ability to deliver on their promises and improve the lives of the constituents.
As the election approaches, the campaign efforts of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang in Assin North are expected to intensify. The outcome of the by-election will not only determine the representation of the constituency in Parliament but also have broader implications for the political landscape in Ghana.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang believes that Hon Quayson is best placed to continue the great work he started after his victory in 2020. A vote for him in this bye-election solidifies this position.
The Assin North by-election was necessitated by the nullification of James Gyakye Quayson’s election as Member of Parliament.
