It has been reported that the Pru East constituency‘s allocation of an ambulance under the ‘One Constituency, One Ambulance’ initiative is currently unaccounted for.
This issue was brought to attention during the 25th ordinary meeting of the Yeji Traditional Council Electoral Area on Thursday, May 25, 2023, by Assemblyman Godwin Awudi.
Awudi shared that his constituents expressed their concerns regarding the missing ambulance during his interactions with them in the electoral area.
As a result, the people of Yeji have had to rely on the ambulance from Kwame Danso to transport emergency cases to either the Techiman Holy Family Hospital or the Okomfo Anokyi Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
In an interview with Adom News Reporter Daniel Tachie, the Assemblyman urged the District Chief Executive and the administration of Mathias Hospital to locate the vehicle promptly, warning that the assembly’s dissatisfaction could be unleashed if the issue is not resolved.
Meanwhile, the Pru East District Chief Executive, Adams Abdulai, stated that he has not seen the ambulance for some time now.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle has developed a fault and is currently undergoing maintenance at a workshop.
During his conversation with Adom News’ Daniel Tachie, Abdulai took the opportunity to appeal to the National Ambulance Service to expedite the repair process so that the ambulance can fulfill its purpose and serve the constituents effectively.
Concerns have also been raised by residents regarding the absence of the ambulance and the impact it has on healthcare delivery in the area.
