Hon. Augustina Ama Tabuah Kofi, a Parliamentary Candidate hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency has urged members of the party in Constituency placed on hold to calm down as they await a new date from National Executives of the party to pick nomination forms to contest in the upcoming primaries.
Her statement follows a press release signed by the General Secretary of the party, Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, which puts the Parliamentary Primaries in 27 Constituencies including Evalue Ajomoro Gwira on hold.
Mr Kwetey explained that the decision to put on hold the opening of nominations in the affected constituencies was to allow for further engagement with key stakeholders to ensure that primaries in those areas would lead to outcomes that would boost the party’s performance in these constituencies.
Reacting to the news, Hon. Tabuah Kofi expressed disappointment but went further to urge the members of the party in affected constituencies, especially Evalue Ajomoro Gwira to trust the National Executives and accept the decision in good faith.
“As disciplined and devoted members of the NDC family we accept the decision of the national office bearers in good faith,” she stated in an interview with InsiderGH.com.
She further urged delegates and members of the party (NDC) in Evalue Ajomoro Gwira to respect the wisdom of the National Executives with regards to the decision to put nominations on hold and kindly wait for a new date.
She also assured party faithfuls that battle to redeem the soul of the NDC in Evalue Ajomoro Gwira constituency must continue unabated till victory comes.
According to her, the postponement doesn’t mean they must let down their guard.
