In a high-profile legal battle, Afro-dancehall superstar Livingstone Etse Satekla, known professionally as Stonebwoy, has taken aspiring politician and entertainment critic Sadiq Abdulai Abu, popularly known as Baba Sadiq, to court over comments made on social media.
The writ, filed in the High Court of Justice on May 31, 2024, outlines Stonebwoy’s demand for Baba Sadiq to delete the offending tweets and issue an unqualified apology.
The reigning Ghanaian Artist of the Year is also seeking GHS 3 million in damages, citing the harm these statements have caused to his reputation.
Stonebwoy asserts that Baba Sadiq’s tweets, which accused him of being a violent female abuser, were maliciously intended to defame him, despite being false.
The allegations have sparked widespread concern among fans and observers, given Stonebwoy’s longstanding advocacy for women’s rights and his involvement in numerous philanthropic efforts supporting women.
The lawsuit is an attempt by Stonebwoy to safeguard his reputation, choosing to address the issue through legal channels to clear his name.
