In a resolute statement, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) implored Ghanaians to refrain from politicising its operations.
Raymond Daapah Addo, the Board Chair of EOCO, stressed the importance of avoiding the demonization of the office whenever there is a change in government.
During the official unveiling of EOCO’s ambitious five-year strategic plan in the capital city, Daapah Addo ardently asserted that the agency maintains no political affiliation.
With great conviction, he called on the public to desist from politicizing every issue, asserting that crime is crime, regardless of whether it is perpetrated by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“We must put an end to the politicisation of every matter. Whether committed by the NPP or NDC, a crime is a crime, and EOCO will diligently pursue anyone involved without bias or prejudice,” Daapah Addo proclaimed.
Highlighting EOCO’s unwavering commitment to pursuing individuals involved in criminal activities, Addo emphasized that the agency operates without fear or favor.
By urging Ghanaians to eschew the politicization of EOCO’s operations, he emphasized that the office can concentrate on effectively and impartially executing its mandate.
The EOCO’s plea for depoliticization arrives at a critical juncture, where public confidence in law enforcement agencies is vital for a just and equitable society.
