Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. James Gunu, has called on Ghanaians to let their prayers inspire decisive action by voting for John Dramani Mahama and all NDC parliamentary candidates in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking on behalf of former President John Dramami Mahama at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Ho Fiave, Kon. Gunu encouraged the congregation to back their hopes and prayers for Ghana’s future with active participation in the polls and massively voting for the NDC.
“Turn your hopes into action—let your prayers lead to votes for John Mahama on December 7, and together, we can make your dreams a reality,” Hon. Gunu told attendees, emphasizing that a victory for the NDC would signal a new dawn of prosperity and development for the nation.
He further noted that the NDC is committed to delivering tangible improvements that align with the aspirations of ordinary Ghanaians.
Reflecting on the importance of unity between faith and civic responsibility, Hon. Gunu highlighted how active involvement in the electoral process is a practical way for citizens to manifest the change they seek.
“We need your prayers, but we also need your votes. Every vote counts, and every vote for the NDC brings us one step closer to building the Ghana we all desire,” he added.
His message resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom nodded in agreement and pledged to support the party’s mission for a brighter future for Ghana.
Throughout his speech, Mr. Gunu highlighted key policies of the NDC that aim to address pressing challenges facing the nation, including job creation, quality education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He reminded Ghanaians of John Mahama’s track record as a leader committed to social and economic progress, citing previous accomplishments in infrastructure development and social welfare that directly benefited communities across Ghana.
Mr. Gunu expressed confidence that Mahama, if elected, would renew his focus on policies aimed at uplifting all Ghanaians, particularly the most vulnerable.
The Volta Regional Secretary also urged the youth in attendance to view voting as a civic duty and an opportunity to shape their own future. He stressed the need for young people to take an active role in the democratic process, reminding them that their voices could determine the direction of the country.
“Young people are the heartbeat of this nation,” Gunu remarked, “and we need your enthusiasm, your energy, and your vision to push forward. By voting, you are investing in a future that values your dreams and empowers you to achieve them.”
With the anniversary celebration serving as a fitting backdrop, Hon. Gunu extended his appreciation to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church for its unwavering commitment to faith, service, and community upliftment over the past five decades. He assured church leaders that the NDC values the role of religious institutions in promoting peace, unity, and social responsibility.
