At least three individuals have been burnt to death following a ghastly road crash, which occurred between Bonomanso and Nipahiamoa on the Techiman-Tamale highway in the Bono East Region.
Emergency officials say 40 others are battling for their lives after the Friday night accident involving a Kia Grand bird bus with registration number AK 285 -22 and an articulated truck with registration number AS 4766.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus from Tamale and heading towards Accra did an overtaking resulting in a head on collision with the trailer.
The Bono East regional fire commander, Emmanuel Inkoom, told Asaase News that both vehicles caught fire after the crash.
He said but for the swift intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service “the situation would have been dire”.
The surviving victims are receiving treatment in a health facility.
