The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has departed Accra for the United Kingdom to attend the 8th UK-Ghana Business Council meeting (UKGBC) and the 3rd edition of the Ghana Investment and Opportunities Summit (GHIOS).
The events, organized by the Ghana High Commission, UK in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), aim to foster development cooperation and showcase investment opportunities between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
As the co-chair of the UKGBC, Vice President Bawumia will lead a delegation comprising government officials and private sector representatives.
The team will engage in productive discussions with their counterparts in the UK, focusing on matters of mutual interest and development cooperation between the two nations.
Previous UKGBC meetings have yielded significant outcomes, including the Kumasi International Airport, Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange Phase II, and the Tamale International Airport, as highlighted by Gideon Boako, Spokesperson to the Vice President Bawumia, in a statement.
Furthermore, at the GHIOS, Vice President Bawumia is expected to lead a delegation of industry captains and business leaders to showcase Ghana’s potential as the premier investment destination in Africa.
The summit provides an opportunity to present the country’s favorable business climate and highlight why Ghana stands out as an attractive choice for investors considering ventures in Africa.
Vice President Bawumia is scheduled to return to Ghana on Sunday, 11th June, 2023, after participating in these crucial meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and fostering investment opportunities for Ghana.
