The National Democratic Congress (NDC) have declared their readiness for the upcoming by-election in Assin North constituency.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Top Story on Tuesday, May 31, in an interview monitored by InsiderGH.com, Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy National Secretary of the NDC expressed the party’s full readiness to participate in the upcoming Assin North by-election.
Gbande confirmed that the NDC had taken proactive steps in preparing for the campaign and other crucial activities immediately after the Supreme Court’s order, which resulted in the removal of James Gyakye Quayson‘s name from the parliamentary records.
During the interview, Gbande emphasized the party’s commitment and determination to retain the Assin North seat.
Gbande further stated that the NDC’s dedication to the by-election extends beyond their internal preparations. The party aims to engage with the electorate and address the concerns and aspirations of the people in Assin North.
“We in the NDC are prepared for this election. We began our preparation even as we were in Kumawu. We will do our review meetings and we will take over Assin North. We knew that we would go into a by-election and so the party has already put processes in place,” he stated.
“There was a vigil held recently and subsequently there are other activities that will start tomorrow [May 31] to canvass and further reinforce our relationship with the constituency,” Mr Gbande added.
