Information reaching InsiderGH.com indicates that Irene Kensah, the widow of the late brother of former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, is on a mission to reclaim her husband’s rightful share of the stolen $1 million.
Taking matters into her own hands, she has instructed her legal representatives to commence the process of retrieving the funds reported to have been stolen from the former minister’s residence.
The shocking revelation came to Irene Kensah’s attention through a broadcast by Paul Adom-Otchere, the host of “Good Evening Ghana” on Metro TV.
Unaware of the money until then, Irene was about to consult her lawyer for a letter of administration when the news hit her. Now, determined to pursue justice, she is taking legal steps to retrieve the money, asserting that she had no prior knowledge of these funds.
In a recent interview with Sompa FM, Irene Kensah stated, “I have no prior knowledge of this money. I learned about it just like everyone else did. While discussing matters with my lawyer, this topic came up. Therefore, as per legal requirements, we are now taking steps to recover the money.”
The reported embezzlement and ownership of the $1 million sparked a public outcry, leading to Cecilia Abena Dapaah’s resignation from her official role as Minister.
Paul Adom-Otchere shared detailed insights during his program, disclosing that $800,000 of the disputed funds was attributed to Nana Akwasi Essan II, the deceased brother of Cecilia Dapaah. This amount was subject to a police report and designated as belonging to the late brother in the charge sheet.
However, Irene Kensah, the widow, is determined to seek what is rightfully hers. Despite her ignorance about any money associated with her late husband, she is committed to recovering the amount through the proper legal channels.
Her lawyer, William Kumi, stands by her side, confirming that they have initiated the necessary processes to secure the funds as part of Irene Kensah’s rightful entitlement to her husband’s estate.
Irene Kensah’s pursuit of truth and reclamation of her late husband’s portion has captivated the nation, setting the stage for a legal battle that could change the course of events surrounding the controversial $1 million theft.
