In a tragic turn of events, Yosef Guedalia, a 22-year-old British-Israeli soldier, was identified as one of the victims of the attack that occurred on October 7th, carried out by Hamas.
The initial report of his name came from The Times, and his family has since confirmed his identity. His [Yosef Guedalia] life was cut short while he was fulfilling his duty as a member of an anti-terror unit, bravely confronting Hamas gunmen at Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
Yosef’s family, especially his brother Asher, remembers him as a beacon of positivity and a genuinely good-hearted individual.
Asher spoke of Yosef Guedalia with great affection, describing him as “always happy” and emphasizing that there was no trace of malice in his character. Yosef’s reputation was that of a righteous and compassionate person, dedicated to his role as a soldier in the face of the ongoing challenges and threats in the region.
“He literally saved people minutes before he got shot”, Asher said.
“He acted with heroism and determination, he continued to fight and didn’t think of himself or hesitate… He went in to rescue as many citizens as possible before they got murdered in their homes and to kill as many terrorists as he could,” Asher stated.
Asher said his brother had helped evacuate injured civilians before returning to fight Hamas. He added that there is a video of Yosef carrying out an injured civilian who is now recovering in hospital.
